About the Artwork/Design:

This Art Print was developed out of colour experiments done for the Art Print ‘Geometric Triangles’. I loved the relationship between the green and pink triangle used in that pattern, so turned the green triangle into a diamond shape and then used the pink as an outline. I wanted to create a spiral or fan effect almost like a dance was in motion or like the flower heads were opening up to the sun. The pink edging worked well with the dark green, but it needed something else that complimented both which I felt had to be a reddish orange as It gave a warmth to the design. Then I added the greyish green as the background so that the red and pink could jump out but the overall pattern wasn’t too garish. The colour relationship of the final pattern reminds me of an arts and craft pattern.
